Smarter than Mum: maths solution for your kids
On a normal mums’ gathering day, one of mums told a story that how she helped her son, who was in Grade 2 at time of the gathering, to overcome maths difficulties at school. Every night after she put her children to sleep, she spent an hour to write down maths questions in order for her son to practise maths. The questions were basic addition and subtraction. After only a few weeks of effort, she started to see positive outcome. A few months past, her son from almost bottom of class became almost top of the class. This story has initiated Dr Ruth, an IT consultant, to develop some small pieces of maths programs to automatically generate maths questions in support to mums and children. The programs had assisted mums and kids including her own son, who were also at primary school, to practice maths at home. It has helped her son to do well at school. She continued to develop this as the children grew older to higher grades. As the program got bigger and bigger, Dr Ruth asked her son to give it a name. “Smarter Than Mum” was popped out of his mouth straight way! Yes, he wants to be smarter than mum. He is becoming smarter than mum.
With passion of helping other children, Smarter Than Mum has since then been further developed into a systematic software. Its development has taken into account of countless feedbacks from kids, mums & dads, and IT professionals. This is today’s Smarter Than Mum.
